2S 535 414 EP 0193 696 A2 shows a device for holding a blindfold cord where the cord, instead of being wound around the device, is inserted into a hole in a body part and in a hole in a part movably arranged at the body part which are tensioned by means of a spring, the string being clamped between these parts, where the string can be released by pressing the moving part against the spring force.
Brief description of the invention The problem of attaching and releasing at least one safety cord is solved according to the invention by a locking device according to the characterizing part of claim 1.
In that a locking device with a housing and an operating member according to claim 1 comprises the features that the housing is arranged with a slot and the operating member is arranged with a recess which slot and which recess extends substantially across the direction of movement of the operating member in the housing, where the slot and the recess are arranged can be set so that they adjoin each other and where a stretched blindfold cord is arranged to be able to be inserted from the outside of the housing across its extent via the slot into the recess, the advantage is achieved that it is possible to quickly fasten and remove the blindfold cord from the locking device with minimal wear on the blind cord. Furthermore, the advantage is also achieved that it is possible to quickly and easily replace existing devices for holding the blind cord with the invention according to the locking device for the blind cord by removing the existing holding device, mounting the invention according to the invention, and then simply placing the blind cord therein.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS The invention will be further elucidated below with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which: Figure 1 schematically shows a section through a locking device in locking position according to a first embodiment of the invention, the locking device comprising a housing and an actuator, Figure 2 schematically shows a view of a locking device according to Figure 1 in neutral, Figure 3 schematically shows a side view of a locking device according to Figure 2, and Figure 4 schematically shows a view of the operating member in Figure 1.
Description of Preferred Embodiments 515 20 25 30 535 414 Identical parts in the various figures are designated by the same reference numerals.
Figure 1 schematically shows a section through a locking device 2 for at least one blind cord 4 according to a first embodiment of the invention, where the locking device 2 comprises a housing 6 and an operating member 8 arranged at least partially inside the housing 6. The operating member 8 is arranged to be displaceable back and forth inside the housing 6. The locking device 2 further comprises a resilient element 10, such as for instance a coil spring, arranged between the housing 6 and the operating member 8, where the resilient element 10 is arranged to exert a disengaging force F between the housing 6 and the operating member 8. In order for the disengaging force F does not separate the actuator 8 from the housing 6, these are arranged with at least each cooperating projecting part 12, 14 which restricts the movement of the actuator 8 inside the housing 6 in one direction and where further the resilient element 10 restricts the movement of the actuator 8 inside the housing 6 in the opposite direction. When assembling the actuator 8 and the housing 6, one end 16 of the actuator can be slid into an opening 18 in the housing 6, the projecting parts 12, 14 being so visibly arranged that they can be forced apart until they reach their cooperating position. The housing 6 is provided with a chamber 20 which is preferably substantially cylindrical at least between its bottom 22 and the above-mentioned projecting part 12.
Furthermore, inside the chamber 20, a part 24 of the operating member 8 with preferably substantially cylindrical circumferential surface is arranged to be able to be displaced back and forth. The resilient element 10 is arranged to abut against the part 24 of the operating member 8 which faces the resilient element 10 and against the bottom 22 of the chamber 20 arranged in the housing 6. The part 24 of the operating member 8 which faces the resilient element 10 is preferably also provided with a chamber 26 in which the resilient element 10 can be received.
The housing 6 is further arranged in its wall 28 with a slot 30 which extends substantially across the direction of movement A of the operating member 8 in the housing 6, via which slot the chamber 20 can be accessed from the outside of the housing 6. The operating member 8 is further provided with a recess 32 which it also extends substantially transversely to the direction of movement A of the actuator 8 in the housing 6.
The slot 30 in the housing 6 and the recess 32 in the operating member 8 are arranged to be adjustable so that they adjoin each other by pushing the operating member 8 into the chamber 20 of the housing 6 against the force F exerted by the resilient element 10, a stretched blind cord 4 is arranged to be able to be inserted from the outside of the housing 6 across its extension B via the slot 30 in the wall of the housing 6 and into the recess 32 in the operating member 8. When the operating member 8 is released again, the force F exerted by the resilient element 10 will push the housing 6 apart. and the actuator 8, the blind cord 4 being clamped between the housing 6 and the actuator 8, more specifically between the edge of the slot 30 of the housing 6 and the edge of the recess 32 of the actuator 8. To prevent the blind cord 4 from sliding out of the recess 32 when the actuator 8 is released, for example when it is desired to lower the blind blades slowly by only slightly depressing the actuator 8 slightly, the recess 32 is preferably formed narrower at the part arranged to abut with the outermost part 64 of the slot 30 in the housing 6 and wider at the parts arranged to abut with the inner parts 65 of the slot 30 of the housing 6, the operating member 8 having a projection 34 which holds the blind cord 4 in the recess 32. The slot 30 and the recess 32 are arranged to such an extent and depth that a stretched part of a blind cord 4 can be inserted from the outside of the housing 6 across its extent B via the slot 30 in the wall 6 of the housing 6 and into the recess 32 in the operating member when the operating member 8 is pressed into the chamber 20 of the housing and can be retained there when the operating member 8 is released, whereby the personal cord 4 is clamped and locked.
In case the chamber 20 in the housing is substantially cylindrical, at least one guide 36, 38 is preferably arranged at the locking device 2, this preferably in the form of at least one guide groove 40, 42 and a projecting guide part 44, 46 arranged on the housing 6 and the operating member 8 or vice versa. , where at least the groove 40, 42 extends along the direction of movement A of the operating member 8, which also applies to the projecting part 44, 46 in case this is arranged elongately, in order in this way to prevent the operating member 8 from rotating relative to the housing 6.
At the bottom of the housing 6 there is preferably arranged at least one opening 48 for at least one fixed member 50 with which the housing 6 can be fastened to a fastening surface 52 such as for instance a window frame.
In order to prevent rotation of the housing 6 around the fastening member 50 in the case, for example, only a knife is used as fastening means, preferably a projecting member 54 is arranged on the outside of the bottom of the housing 6 which member 54 is arranged to be pressed into the fastening surface 52 during assembly.
In case a coil spring is used as resilient element 10, the fastening member 50 or a bulge of the housing 6 is preferably arranged to protrude from the bottom 22 of the chamber 20, one end of the coil spring being arranged around it, or alternatively the bottom of the housing 6 is provided with a recess in which one end of the coil spring can be placed. Correspondingly, the other end of the coil spring can be arranged around a corresponding bulge in the operating member 8, or alternatively in a chamber 26 in the operating member 8. In this way, tilting of the coil spring in the chamber 20 can be prevented.
The operating member 8 is at its end 56 opposite to the resilient element 10 preferably arranged with a pushing member 58 such as a button which can be arranged either in one piece with the operating member 8 or be a separate part and thus replaceable as required. In which case the pressure means 58 can be adapted as required, for example by making it in soft material, hard material, large diameter, in luminescent material, etc.
By pushing in the operating member 8 only a short distance when a blind cord 4 is located in the recess 32 in the operating member 8, the blind can be lowered steplessly to the desired position. Because it is possible to remove the blind cord 4 from the locking device when pulling up or dropping the blind, this can be done quickly and with minimal wear on the blind cord. In addition, existing fastening devices for holding the blind cords can be quickly and easily replaced with the inventive locking device for the blind cords by removing the existing holding device, mounting the locking device according to the invention, preferably in the existing screw hole, and then simply placing the blind cord therein.
The projecting force F exerted by the resilient element 10 between the housing 6 and the operating member 8 is preferably arranged so large that in its clamped and locked position between the housing 6 and the operating member 8 on the one hand can not slide in the locking device 2 under the action of the force exerted on the blind cord 4 by the blind leaves but where on the other hand the blind cord 4 can slide in the locking device 2 under the influence of muscle force from a person who by pulling the blind cord 4 wishes to pull up the blind leaves without pushing the actuator 8 into the housing 6 chamber 20.
Figure 2 schematically shows a view of a locking device 2 according to figure 1 in neutral position, i.e. when the actuator 8 is pressed into the chamber 6 of the housing 6. From the figure it can be seen that by pressing the operating member 8 in the chamber of the housing 6 against the force exerted by the said resilient element, the slot 30 in the housing 6 and the recess 32 in the operating member 8 can be adjusted so that they adjoin each other whereby a blind cord 4 can be inserted from the outside of the housing 6 across its extension B via the slot 30 in the wall of the housing 6 and into the recess 32 in the operating member 8. In the embodiment shown in the figure, the slot 30 and the recess 32 are arranged to such an extent and depth that a stretched part of a blinds cord 4 can be inserted from the outside of the housing 6 via the slot 30 in the wall of the housing 6 and into the recess 32 in the operating member when the operating member 8 is pressed into the chamber of the housing.
The figure further shows the projection 34 of the operating member 8, which projection is arranged to retain the blind cord 4 in the recess 32 and thus prevent the blind cord 4 from sliding out of the recess 32 when the operating member 8 is released. Furthermore, a projecting guide part 44 of the operating member 8, an opening 48 for at least one fastening means with which the housing 6 can be fastened to a fastening surface, and projecting means 54 arranged on the outside of the bottom of the housing 6 which are arranged to be pressed into the fastening surface during assembly are also shown. As can be seen from the figure, the edges 60, 62 of the slot 30 may preferably be arranged beveled at least in the outermost part 64 of the slot to facilitate the insertion of the blind cord 4 across its extension B in the slot 30 in the wall 6 of the housing 6 and further into the recess 32 in the actuator 8.
Figure 3 schematically shows a side view of a locking device 2 according to figure 2, in which the housing 6, the operating member 8, the projection 34 of the operating member 8, a projecting guide part 44 of the operating member 8 and projecting means 54 arranged on the outside of the bottom of the housing 6 which are arranged to be pressed into the mounting surface during assembly. As can be seen from the figure, the edges 60, 62 of the slot 30 may preferably be provided beveled at least in the outermost part 64 of the slot 30 to facilitate the insertion of the blind cord 4 across its extension B in the slot 30 in the wall 6 of the housing 6 and further into the recess 32 in the actuator 8. The embodiment shown in the figure shows the slot 30 and the recess 32 arranged to such an extent and depth, respectively, that a stretched part of a blind cord 4 can be inserted from the outside of the housing 6 across its extension B via the slot 30 in the wall 6 of the housing 6 and into the recess 32 in the actuator. 8 when the actuator 8 is pressed into the chamber of the housing. In the figure, the inner parts 65 of the slot are also marked.
Possibly also the edges of the actuator 8 and the housing 6 which come into contact with the blind cord 4 when slowly "sneaking down" the blind leaves by only lightly pressing down the actuator 8 are slightly bevelled to minimize wear on the blind cord 4.
Figure 4 schematically shows a view of the operating member 8 in Figure 1. The figure shows the projection 34 of the operating member 8, projecting guide parts 44, 46 of the operating member 8, and the pressure member 58 of the operating member 8.
The housing and the actuator can preferably be made of plastic, such as for instance recyclable plastic.
